First Week of 2016

The first week of 2016 was cold and stressful!  Not exactly the way I'd pick to start a New Year.  The temps were a little startling after the 70F we'd seen the week before.  It's always hard to get back in the swing of things but work was a little more than stressful coming back to.  I was so glad to see the weekend arrive.

The kids started back to school and we were all exhausted Friday night.  We started a bit of a new schedule since Mimo is now living in town with us.  She is going to pick them up on Wednesdays for the rest of the year.  She started this past week with picking them up and bringing them to our house to do homework.  We told her we'd pay her with dinner each Wed. night.

Will did have one fun thing this week - he got to go to his friend Ben's house after school on Friday.  Lindy was a little sad she didn't get to go play with a friend but I told her we'd have someone over soon for her to play with.  This week just wasn't a good week for me.  She went back to work with me and got to play on her iPad so she was fine with that.  She had a tummy ache Friday night so I laid on her bed with her, trying to stay awake.  She ended up fine.

Saturday Drew was gone ALL day long.  He went with Ed and Mimo back to Waxhaw to get the final things from Mimo's old house.  It was a dreary day so the kids and I spent a lazy morning inside.  We headed out in the afternoon for a couple errands and came back to watch the Chiefs win their playoff game.

All the teams we like in MO and around KC have had a very exciting fall with their sports teams.  Sporting KC won the US World Cup in Soccer, the Royals won the World Series, Northwest Missouri State Bearcats won the Division II National Championship in football, and the Chiefs are on an 11 game winning streak!  We are super excited in our house - can only imagine living in KC!

Not many pictures since we were just trying to get in the swing of real life this week.

Looking cute in warm clothes!

We have to get photographic evidence anytime the dog and cat get this close.
Lindy was into taking selfies with my co-worker, Meghan, and me at work on Friday afternoon.
 Today before church.

Boom - I'm caught up!!
