Reality Slapped Me In The Face

I walked in the door from New York City around 11:15pm last Sunday night.  I was in bed around 11:45pm and at 12:30am Lindy woke up crying.  I went in to check on her and it was pretty funny.  She was calling for Daddy and she saw me instead.  She made some crazy expressions and acted pleased to see me.

I went to give her a kiss and she felt warm.  I took her temperature and yes she had one.  Vacation was definitely over after that.  Welcome home!

She was sick the ENTIRE week.  She had a temperature all day every day until yesterday (Saturday evening).  She stayed home from school the entire week.

The first couple days she had a cough and a temperature but didn’t act like she felt that bad.  After her nap on Tuesday she seemed pretty wiped out.  Wednesday she seemed better, after she napped on Daddy in the recliner.

I finally decided to take her into the doctor since she still had the temperature on Thursday morning.  We got right in and our doctor checked her out.   She was wheezing a little and had the beginnings of an ear infection.  We got her some albuterol with a spacer and mask and an antibiotic.

Thursday afternoon was the worst she was all week.  She slept in her bed for a little while at naptime and after that she slept on me, Drew, or the couch the rest of the night.  She seemed so wiped out.  She woke up feeling better on Friday morning but after her nap she acted very sick again.  Finally yesterday she started acting like the Lindy we know and love.  She really ate hardly anything all week long and she at some lunch and dinner yesterday.  She definitely turned the corner yesterday.

Will stayed well all week.  He went to school on Tuesday, to music on Wednesday, to hear an African youth choir on Wednesday night, and to school on Thursday.

Friday night we had our trusty babysitter, Janice come watch the kids so we could go to supper club.  Lindy was kind of puny that evening but I knew she was in good hands with Janice.  Janice got her to sleep in her bed for the first time the whole week!

We finally decided to get out of the house yesterday.  We rode downtown and checked out the new site for the March for Babies walk.  I’m on the planning committee so I wanted to check it out.  It was in the mid-50’s so it was nice to get a little fresh air.

Will has gotten a cold.  He started coughing a bit Saturday night and his nose is running like crazy right now.  I hope his just stays as a cold and doesn’t go as far as Lindy’s did.  Guess we’ll see what happens this week!

I took hardly any pictures this week because there wasn’t anything going on.  It’s the least amount of pictures I’ve taken in awhile!

While Drew and Will were gone on Wednesday night, Lindy got to play some new games on the iPad.DSC_6243There was a lot of this going on this week.  Which actually breaks my cardinal rule of no kids in my bed but I caved this week.  It was exhausting after so many nights of her not sleeping!DSC_6245And a lot of sleeping on the couch went on too.DSC_6246A lot of laying on Mommy or Daddy with sick, sad eyes.DSC_6252Lindy with her inhaler, spacer, and mask.DSC_6255Getting a little fresh air yesterday.DSC_6264At the new walk site for the March for Babies.  Drew and Will are sitting on the wall in the picture.  They are tiny compared to the BB&T building!DSC_6281DSC_6288FINALLY – she smiles!  She feels better.DSC_6296When she started acting silly and giving me her crazy faces I knew she was better!DSC_6306Will wrote his name today on the Magna Doodle.  It’s the first time that I know of that he’s actually written it and you know what it says!DSC_6338

aw, I really hope that Will did not get sick this week! We are dealing with teething here, which to our 3 year old was not a big deal, but to our 1 year old.....torture.

I'm blogging now if you wanna check us out. :)
