A big old snowstorm blew through and we got 8-10 inches of snow last night and today. Two snowstorms in one winter is good for NC! We didn’t make it out to play today because it was sleeting for a long time and it was cold, less than 20F. We plan to head out tomorrow morning since church has already been cancelled.
Last weekend we got together with 5 of my friends from high school. It was a blast to see everyone and see all of our offspring playing together. The 6 of us have 10 kids plus one on the way. We were missing one on Saturday because he was sick. I only wish I lived closer to these girls; they are the best!
We had a good week with only a couple appointments. Our physical therapy appointment was cancelled on Tuesday so we had a free day. Wednesday Will had speech therapy in the morning and Lindy had hearing therapy in the afternoon. Both went well. Will enjoyed speech therapy again. You could tell he was tiring of it at the end though. He was tired of repeating words I guess. I feel like he is making a much bigger effort to repeat and imitate words. We used to get a grunt when we asked him to say something. Now he will try to say it. That’s definitely a step in the right direction. Lindy’s hearing therapy went well too. Our therapist had another therapist there doing a peer review.
Will woke up with a mysterious rash Friday morning. I noticed his forehead looked a little red at breakfast but he acted fine. A little later I changed his diaper and saw some tiny red bumps on his bottom. Then I went to change his clothes and he had the red bumps all over his belly and back. He has acted absolutely fine though. He still has the tiny bumps but so far no other symptom of any other kind. He didn’t eat anything new and we haven’t tried any new soaps or detergents. Very strange indeed.
I noticed something today about Lindy today – she basically never takes off her glasses or hearing aides anymore. She pretty much wears them all day, except when sleeping. I honestly never thought we’d see this day. I thought she’d be pulling it all off her entire life! She has become a big girl! Her hearing aides still flop quite a bit and when they do she touches the hearing aid and says “help.” She waits for us to tuck it back behind her ear. I still don’t trust her in the car with them though! It took almost two years but she is finally wearing it all very consistently.
I think that about sums up our week. Even though we didn’t go out in the snow, I brought the snow into the kids. They had a ball playing with it and Lindy ate her weight in snow. I finally had to stop her because I have no clue if she is aspirating it. Who in the world has to worry about their kids aspirating snow except me??? It took Will about 25 minutes to realize she was eating it and then he had to have some himself.
My Asheboro friends (me, Jamie, Virginia, Katie, Carrie, and Wendy) This was best picture we could get of the kids (Will, Sam holding Annalise, Riley holding Lindy, Mia, Berkley, Anna holding Rebecca).Last weeks church outfits.Isn’t this cutest little dress ever? Mimo gave it to Lindy for Christmas. The stink face that I wrote about last week. We’ve been getting it this week too! Snuggling with the kids last weekend after we all napped! Will LOVES music. The laptop was playing one of his cd’s and he just sat and stared at it. He is also working on his second two year molar so he’s been chewing on his hand all week. Almost every day Will gets him belt down and pretends to put it on.Playtime with Daddy. Waiting for snow! It snowed!! Playing with the snow! I put their gloves on to keep their hands a little warmer. Of course Lindy wouldn’t leave hers on. Will saw his toboggan and thought he should wear it too.

Oh, the excitment of snow! Such a good ideal to bring it to them.
I do love their church outfits. Miss Lindy's dress is beautiful and her matching bow.
Stay Warm !
